There is no better way to take in the night-time beauty of Manila than with a smooth drink in hand, lounging alfresco as high as 71 floors above ground. If you are searching for a place to make an impression, or simply are in the mood to indulge in some of life’s finest, here are five rooftop bars in town to consider for your next night out in the capital city of the Philippines.

Situated on the 71st floor is 71 Gramercy, one of the highest rooftop joints in Manila. This sky-high spot is the city’s “it” bar and nightclub, considering its many A-list patrons including prominent actors and models. Available on the menu are a variety of beers, spirits and cocktails, as well as truffle popcorn and pizzas, if you’re feeling a little bit more than peckish.

Address: 71st floor, Century City, Kalayaan Ave, Makati, 1210 Metro Manila, Philippines
Opening hours:
Mondays to Saturdays – 6:00pm to 6:00am
Sundays – 6:00pm to 12:00am

2. Buddha-Bar Manila

The first Buddha Bar in Asia and 13th franchise of the world-renowned Buddha Bar Paris conceptualized by restaurateur Raymond Visan and interior designer Claude Challe, Buddha Bar Manila is housed in a three-storey building with grand, spacious interiors. Pairing gourmet plates with ethnic electronica music, it also offers a terrace spot for those who prefer to indulge in its smorgasbord of wines, champagnes, cocktails and Japanese sakes out in the fresh air.

Address: Picar Place, Kalayaan Ave, Makati City, Philippines
Opening hours:
Tuesdays to Thursdays – 4:00pm to 2:00am
Fridays and Saturdays – 4:00pm to 3:00am

3. Pacific and Sunset Lounge

If you’re staying with us at Pan Pacific Manila, you only have to take a few steps from your room to reach the hotel’s Pacific Lounge on the 21st floor. The view of the urban skyline from the top can only be paired with food that tastes as exquisite as the scenery looks. We recommend the Chicken and Pork Adobo, Roasted Australian Lamb Rack, and the crowd favourite – Mango Tart to top it off. Besides the restaurant area, the 12,000 sqft venue also includes a bar and a picturesque rooftop garden with a gazebo.

On the 7th floor of Pan Pacific Manila, the recently opened Sunset Lounge offers an intimate alfresco area for evening tipples and small bites, and is open daily from 5:30pm to 9:00pm.

Pacific Lounge Opening hours:
Daily – 6:00am to 10:30am and 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Lunch (Monday to Friday) – 12:00pm to 1:30pm
Dinner (Thursday to Saturday) – 6:00pm to 9:30pm

4. Skye Lounge

Another choice location for an “elevated” drinking and dining experience is the aptly named Skye Lounge, perched atop W High Street Building. A classy spot for the trend-savvy, this lounge club is the place to be if you’re looking to stir up a party. When its resident DJ isn’t spinning house records, a live band takes the stage to deliver chill, acoustic tunes. The real show-stealer, though, is the pool by the bar, where there’s no better place to relish a tipple.

Address: Roof deck W High Street Building, 28th Street corner, 11th Ave Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Philippines
Opening hours:
Tuesdays to Saturdays: 5:30pm to 3:00am
Closed on Mondays and Sundays

5. Bunk

Nearly every bar in town offers mocktails, cocktails and beers like this one does, but not every watering hole would think to include such heart-warming treats as s’mores and ice cream cookie sandwiches. That’s what makes Bunk, a rooftop bar on the eighth level of Jovan Building (and veritable second home for “free spirits”, they say, and spirits lovers alike), a popular venue.

Address: 8th floor, Jovan Building, Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines
Opening hours:
Tuesdays to Saturdays -6:00pm to 3:00am
Sundays – 6:00pm to 12:00am
Closed on Mondays
